Drug Testing - The Choice of Sample
Specialist Sample Analysis
Depending upon what objective needs to be ascertained the choice of sample will differ, as each sample type has its own advantages and disadvantages.
For example, if you wanted to establish that a drug was consumed recently, within the last 4 days. Then a urine/blood analysis would be the best choice of sample as the window of detection for a drug to be detected in urine/blood is 3-6 days (depending upon the drug).
However, if chronic misuse or a pattern of substance needs to be established, then hair analysis would be the better sample to use. Of course other factors such as possibility of adulteration of the sample, storage of sample, ease of collection and expense should all be taken into consideration.
